Asake Departs YBNL Nation to Pursue Career Independently.

Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has officially parted ways with Olamide's YBNL Nation to become an independent artist. Signed to YBNL in February 2022, Asake's stay at YBNL lasted nearly three years, during which he achieved significant milestones, including the release of his debut extended play, Ololade, and the successful album Mr. Money with the Vibe, which peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart in September 2022.

In the months leading up to his departure, Asake deleted all YBNL-related content from his social media platforms and unfollowed Olamide, sparking speculation about a potential rift. Despite these actions, both Asake and Olamide have remained silent on the matter, offering no public statements to clarify the situation.

Industry analysts suggest several possible reasons for Asake's exit, including contractual disputes, creative differences, a desire for greater independence, or personal conflicts. However, without official comments from either party, the exact motivations remain speculative.

Asake's departure from YBNL marks a significant transition in his career as he embarks on this new independent phase. His recent album, Lungu Boy, released in August 2024, has already broken streaming records and features collaborations with international artists such as Wizkid, Central Cee, Travis Scott, Stormzy, and Ludmilla, signaling his intent to expand his global reach.
